Archbishop’s
Vocations Walk
Be it so know, that the Knights of Columbus have been very instrumental in supporting and participating in the Archbishop’s Vocations Walk since its inception. Therefore, it is requested that the Knights in the Denver Metropolitan area lend their full support and efforts to make this a successfully prominent event which prays for vocations.
Therefore, I request each metropolitan Council lend its support to the Denver Metro Chapter in fully sponsoring the Archbishop’s Vocations Walk, which will be held Saturday, June 13, 2009 at the Mother Cabrini Shrine atop the mountain.
Whereas, in the past the Knights have not only provided manpower with the assistance for setup, food preparations for the picnic held after Mass, then cleanup afterwards, but have provided a strong Forth Degree presence to lead the procession up to the Sacred Heart of Jesus statue, then afterwards stood as an Honor Guard for the Mass. Could we not continue with and expand upon this tradition?
Be it so resolved, that the Councils contribute manpower along with financial support to the Denver Metro Chapter, for which in return, the Chapter donates $750 to the Mother Cabrini Shrine. These funds will go towards replacing and purchase food and refreshments supplied by their staff. It is also requested of the District Master that a strong Forth Degree presence is committed for the Vocations Walk. As in the past these funds will also provide for a Sister’s Day of Prayer in the fall. The Knights also prepare and serve the food at this function.
Be it further resolved, that the Knights continue to pledge their support to vocations while assisting our Clergy as needed.
