Knights Of Columbus Council 10961
Nativity of Our Lord Broomfield, CO
2011

January 10, 2011
Dear Brother Knights,

During the past year Council 10961 has raised thousands of dollars through a Tootsie Roll Drive, Pancake Breakfasts, Bronco Ticket Raffle, and sale of Keep Christ in Christmas magnets and stickers. Funds raised supported FRIENDS of Broomfield, Operation TBI-Freedom, and seminarians Joe Grady and  Deacon Diego. Money raised also allowed us to sponsor a presentation on the Miracle of Pacocha for the parish, and to purchase and  install a 60,000 liter water tank at  St. John’s Secondary School in Jjaga, Uganda .

We supported Nativity of Our Lord Parish by helping with the teardown of the
Christmas Craft Fair, by supporting the ENDOW International Convention Eucharistic
Adoration, and by hosting a Communion Service and Living Rosary in May, Mary’s special
month, and in September. We showed support for the parish quarterly at Corporate
Communions. New landscaping was designed and installed around the Ten
Commandments/Beatitudes Monument.

Council 10961 supported the community by driving seniors from Highlands Trails at 136th and Sheridan to 9:30 Mass every Sunday. We prayed on Wednesdays at the Boulder Abortion Clinic  during the “40 Days of Life” and on the feast of the Annunciation. The Holy Eucharist was distributed at Good Samaritan Hospital and to the homebound. 1500 pounds of turkey were  collected and delivered to the Samaritan House. Our members served meals at the Catholic Workers Soup Kitchen in Denver and brought the Word of God to the Broomfield County Jail. We served  youth through the Cub Scouts, by sponsoring  a  free throw contest, by teaching religious education, by hosting a Pizza Party for the altar servers, and by assisting at the Holy Family High School Gala.

Many of the council’s monthly Social Meetings were faith building as well as fun. They included a video on the Miracle of Pacocha presented by the film’s producer, a video on the Star of Bethlehem, and  a talk by Brother Knights  Samm Donelson and Dean Rohr on their work in Uganda. We also held a Sweetheart Breakfast for Valentines Day.

Thank you for all your help. May God bless you in a special way this Christmas.
